2. Pioneer Ladies

Wife of Bhai Hira Singh landed in Canada (with their daughter Naranjan Kaur, three years old) in July 1911. She was the only lady who attended Bhai Mewa Singh's funeral on January 11th, 1915. She gave birth to another daughter on 13 June, 1912.
BIBI HARNAM KAUR, a wife of Bhai Bhag Singh, landed in Canada (with their son Joginder Singh, who was born in Hong Kong on their way to Canada) on January 21st, 1912. She died inVancouver and her funeral took place on February 2nd., 1914.
BIBI KARTAR KAUR, wife of Bhai Balwant Singh, landed in Canada (with their two daughters Udham Kaur and Naranjan Kaur) on January 21st, 1912. Their son Bhai Hardial Singh was born in Sikh Temple, Vancouver on August 28, 1912.
MOTHER OF BHAI HAKIM SINGH JAGIRDAR, landed in Canada, with her four grandsons: Atma Singh, Iqbal Singh, Teja Singh and Janmeja Singh on July 20th, 1913.
WIFE OF BHAI SURTA SINGH (with their two sons) landed in Canada on July 29th, 1913.

3. Baba Gurdit Singh, his son Balwant Singh and innocent passengers of Komagata Maru (Guru Nanak Jahaz)who were murdered, imprisoned and interned in their village for years. 4. Baba Gurmukh Singh Laton,a prominent passenger of Komagata Maru, was imprisoned for life after the massacre of passengers at Budge Budge Ghat (Calcutta). He was the first passenger of Komagata Maru who came to Canada in 1958 and told the real story of the voyage of Komagata Maru and Tragedy of Massacre of Passengers. He was the founder of Ghadar Memorial Hall, Jallandhar, India.
